Dunnage Air Bags are paper bags constructed of 2, 4, 6, or 8 plys (layers) of paper or gauges of poly material in 5 different levels (L1, L2, L3, L4, and L5), designed with an inflatable internal Polyethylene Bladder. They are an innovative and simple blocking and bracing tool.
Dunnage Air Bags are used to restrain movement of cargo loads in trucks, overseas containers, or railcars. They fill voids, brace loads, absorb vibrations, and protect cargo from in-transit damage, better than any other form of bracing (“dunnaging”).
Dunnage Air Bags represent a less expensive means of blocking and bracing than the use of lumber and nails or expensive rubber air bags.
Dunnage airbags perform best when the pressure force of the bag exerted onto the load is equal to, or greater than the weight of the product. In order accomplish this, the bag needs to have as much surface contact with the product as possible.
The bags should be large enough to create sufficient friction and pressure to hold the cargo securely in place. However, oversized bags may lead to inefficiencies and unnecessary material costs. Measure the gaps between cargo items accurately and choose dunnage bags that can fit snugly into those spaces.
Factors to consider include the weight of the cargo, the dimensions of the items being transported, and the mode of transportation. A thorough understanding of the cargo’s characteristics will help determine the amount of pressure the dunnage bags need to withstand to prevent movement and shifting.
For heavy and dense cargo, higher load-bearing capacity dunnage bags are necessary, while lighter cargo may require bags with lower load capacity. Additionally, understanding the fragility of the cargo can influence the level of cushioning required to protect it during transit.

LEVELS 3,4, & 5 Polywoven bags.
To maintain product integrity, it is very important to place corrugated or some type of smooth surface on either side of the Dunnage Bag to protect it from rough edges (wooden crates, pallets, or anything sharp).
Yes.
More and more companies are switching to reusable valve air bags, even if they can’t always recover and reuse the bags. To keep in step with eco-friendly practices, most of our Dunnage Air Bags come with a reusable valve at no additional cost to you, and soon 100% of our Air Bags will be reusable.
